For more than a century, W. R. Grace & Co.-Conn. has been a world-leading specialty chemical enterprise with a profound heritage in silica technology innovation. Its full series of food grade silica products have built an excellent reputation in the global food and pharmaceutical industries with industry-leading purity, precisely engineered structural properties, full global regulatory compliance and versatile application adaptability, providing all-round solutions for customers worldwide in process upgrading, product quality improvement, safety compliance and sustainable production.
The core of Grace's technology lies in its industry-leading pore structure engineering and purification process. Its food grade silica products are all high-purity synthetic amorphous silica, with a dry basis SiO₂ content of up to 99.7%, no respirable crystalline silica, and highly inert chemical properties that will not trigger adverse oxidation reactions in food substrates. The flagship SYLOID® FP series is a multi-functional food and pharmaceutical grade silica, among which the 244 FP model has the strongest adsorption capacity in the series, can adsorb up to 3 times its own weight of liquid, and is the first choice for glidants and high-capacity liquid carriers in probiotic preparations, plant extracts and multivitamin formulas; the 63 FP model is specially designed for moisture-sensitive active ingredients, with excellent moisture adsorption capacity at low relative humidity, which can effectively extend the product shelf life. The TRISYL® series is a food grade silica adsorbent specially developed for edible oil refining, with a specific surface area of 700 m²/g, which can efficiently remove polar contaminants such as phospholipids and trace metals in oils and fats. Compared with traditional activated bleaching earth, it can achieve up to 85% total cost saving and 90% reduction in spent filter cake, greatly reducing hazardous waste disposal costs and oil loss.
All Grace food grade silica production facilities are ISO 9001 certified, and comply with IPEC-PQG GMP guidelines and HACCP food safety management system. The products fully comply with USP-NF, EP, FCC, EU E551 regulations and China GB 25576 standards, and can provide complete regulatory documentation and traceability support. Grace has built a global full-cycle technical service system, with service outlets in the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and other regions, which can provide localized on-site service, formula development guidance and process optimization support for customers, helping enterprises maximize economic benefits and product quality.
